Colemans’ efforts in the specialist field of Town and Country Planning have received a boost with the news that they have won Planning Law Firm of Year (UK) at the 2016 Lawyer Monthly Legal Awards. This prestigious award reflects the work Colemans have been carrying out in an area of law which few firms of similar size undertake. Recent Town and Country Planning successes saw Colemans achieved two consents for conversion and extension of their former office building at 21 Marlow Road Maidenhead to residential flats. Colemans also recently represented clients resisting a High Court challenge to a planning inspector’s decision to grant their clients planning permission. Managing Partner and Head of Commercial Property Michael Stone said “it is very satisfying to see the work we do in this highly specialised field of Town and Country Planning being rewarded with national recognition. It was also very pleasing in 2016 to secure a valuable planning permission for ourselves which paved the way for redevelopment of our old offices at 21 Marlow Road enabling us to relocate to our new premises at Switchback Office Park Maidenhead.”
Colemans’ advice and experience in the field of Town and Country Planning complements work the company carries out not only in the commercial property field but also when acting for a number of residential development companies. Our litigation department headed by Kate Williams also deals with High Court work arising out challenges to planning appeals and related matters.
Michael Stone believes the company’s extensive property experience allied to its expertise in Town and Country Planning enables it to find innovative solutions to legal problems associated with development as well as helping to prevent inappropriate development taking place. The firm’s local knowledge and connections also prove invaluable.
